The online Twittersphere was also reaching fever pitch, with celebrities urging their fans to vote. Katy Perry and Eva Longoria both posted messages in favour of Barack Obama. Perry tweeted a photo of her with the US president and her grandmother with the caption: "May I exclusively present what might be the cutest photo ever taken. Me, Gma & POTUS!" - the President of the United States. Longoria, an avid Obama campaigner, added the message, "I Voted" to her profile picture. Mariah Carey also tweeted out photos of her voting and rapper Chris Brown simply told his Twitter followers to go and "Vote". 'Justin Bieber also contributed to Tuesday's hottest Twitter topic, although the 18-year-old can't vote himself. He's Canadian. While most tweets seemed to favour Obama, entrepreneur Donald Trump sent out a series of messages backing Republican Mitt Romney. Tuesday's election has become the most tweeted event in US political history, with more than 31 million tweets sent throughout the day. At its height, some 327000 tweets were sent every minute and Obama's winning tweet, which he posted moments before his victory speech in Chicago has become the most retweeted message of all time.

Proud to stand by you for 4 more years," so the "California Gurls" tweeted. The Monster Ringleader wrote, "I JUST GOT OFF STAGE IN COLUMBIA!! CONGRATULATIONS MR. PRESIDENT @BarackObama We are so proud to be American tonight! YES!!! YES! YES!!," while the "Desperate Housewives" alumna stated, "We did it!!! Obama re-elected!!!!! Yes!! Yes We Can!" Mandy Moore was equally delighted as tweeting, "So F'ing proud of my country and our President @BarackObama!! #obama2012." Olivia Munnchimed in, "Four More Years!!!! @BarackObama is our 43rd AND 44th PRESIDENT!!!!," as Zachary Quinto stated, "NEVER BEEN MORE FIRED UP IN MY ADULT LIFE!!!!!!!" Zoe Saldana also posted an elaborate message to address Obama's win. "Barack Obama!!! The 44th President of The United States of America. God bless America, once again!- ZS," so she wrote. Obama uses stars' powers for final campaign pushObama uses stars' powers for final campaign push President Barack Obama is bringing aboard a slew of high profile celebrities like Eva Longoria and Katy Perry in the final days of his campaign leading up to the election on November 6. The president will campaign in swing states to gather more votes with the help of star supporters. Longoria will appear with Obama at a grassroots rally in Las Vegas. Perry will perform at a free concert in Wisconsin on November 3 with Obama. November 4 marks an even more jam-packed day as Obama campaigns in New Hampshire, Florida, Ohio and Colorado. Obama will appear with Bruce Springsteen on November 5 and the New Jersey rocker will perform a duet with rapper Jay-Z in Ohio. The president and Springsteen will finish their tour in Iowa on the same day.
